Tropical Disturbance 98L may threaten the United States

A Tropical Disturbance has been located with a 90% chance of cyclone development. What does this mean for the United States you ask?

Above is the GEFS model that shows 98L making its way into the Gulf of Mexico unimpeded with further model guidance showing it potentially headed for the Florida Panhandle.

Above here is the GEPS model that wants to tell a different story. Ripping it apart in the Cuba mountains and landfalling in southern Florida as a lower end storm. Mind you these are just forecast models and are subject to change but all models do agree on 98L impacting the United States in some way.
