The Random Photo Quotes Widget

Looking for a way to get quotes from the Photo Quotes Archive into your website, blog, or forum? That's where the Random Photo Quotes Widget comes in! The widget retrieves a random quotation from the Photo Quotes Archive and places it on the web page where the widget is installed. See the Words of Wisdom box to the right as an example of the quote in use.

Use the Random Photo Quotes Widget on your website, blog, or any other place you want! Simply place the widget's HTML into your site's template and then every time the page is loaded a new random quote will be pulled from the FocalPower service.

How to Use the Random Photo Quotes Widget:

1. Random Quote From Entire Photo Quotes Archive (default)
   The Photo Quotes Archive contains many quotes organized into a primary and secondary subjects. The HTML below is the default behavior that gets a random quote from entire archive:

2. Random Quote from a Primary Subject
   If you want a random quote from just a primary subject, use the HTML below:

   Near the bottom of the HTML (the src= line):

   /app/quote/random.js?subject1=photography"

   change the word in bold to the primary subject you desire.
   

3. Random Quote from a Secondary Subject
   If you want a random quote from just a more focused secondary subject, use the HTML below:

   change the words in bold to the primary and secondary subject you desire.

   Note: both a primary and secondary subject are required.
   

4. Single Specific Quote
   If you always want a specific quote, use the HTML below:

   Near the bottom of the HTML (the src= line):

   change the number in bold to the quote number for the desired quote. The quote number can be found beneath each quote when browsing the Photo Quotes Archive and will not change.
