Hector to Impact Hawaii Today

The far outer bands of Hurricane Hector will impact the Big Island of Hawaii later today. A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for Hawaii County.

Hurricane Hector is a category 3 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 125 mph. Hector continues to move westward around 16 mph.

Tropical storm conditions are expected across parts of the Big Island as Hector passes to the south of Hawaii. Dangerous surf and strong winds are the primary threats.
